The Money Bombs were made popular by Congressman Ron Paul’s (R-TX-14) Presidential Campaign throughout the final months of 2007. On November 5th, 2007 (Guy Fawke’s Day) he collected over $4.2 million within that one day period. This record did not stand long though, as a second money bomb for Congressman Paul’s campaign occurred on December 16th, 2007 (Boston Tea Party) and the total contributions exceeded $6 million. What was different about these political contributions was that they were almost exclusively from grassroots individuals sending in small amounts of money. The contributions were not typically from wealthy donors or entities that would have exclusive fundraising events. Instead, these were from We The People of these United States. This was the creation of the modern day Tea Party movement, the logical outgrowth of the pre-existing Patriot movement, which had long existed in America but had been relegated to derision by the mainstream.

Today marks a new day in the era of Money Bombs. Today is officially the 162nd anniversary of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, celebrating the formal drawing of the borders of Texas and forcing Mexico to recognize the sovereignty of Texas and it’s rightful secession. What more fitting way to celebrate this fine date than to contribute to the only Gubernatorial candidate that understands Texas is a sovereign state.

On Feb. 2nd of 2010, Texans will remember that day by collectively contributing to the one gubernatorial candidate who will force our Federal Government to finally recognize Texas’ still existing sovereignty. That candidate is Debra Medina!

On that precious day, Texas’ Founding Fathers, who fought so hard and died for Texas’ freedom from Mexico, finally sealed their victory. The border was set, the war was no more, and Mexico now recognized Texas as free! These Founders helped establish our Texas to be a Constitutional Republic – a form of limited government that respects the rights of all individuals, as well as the sovereignty of the State from the overbearing arms in Washington.

Unfortunately today, we no longer have elected leaders who believe in such principles – at least not in the Governor’s seat! Instead, our leaders believe it perfectly normal to steal land, restrict gun rights, ignore the existence of a southern border, force untested medical treatments on our daughters, and allow the Federal Government to walk all over our contract with them known as the U.S. Constitution.

Now we have a chance to turn that all around – to finally bring back the Texas that was meant to be and restore liberty, once again, to our great state!
